2 Types of Catering Service

By Cheow Yu Yuan

Catering service is a must for every event or party. With nice food, you can be sure to keep your guests happy and make the event a memorable one. When it comes to catering, there are 2 types of services that can make your guests happy: a buffet or a sit-down meal with servers. There are pros and cons for each type but with the right one that fits your event, you can be sure that your guests will enjoy it.

One key advantage of having a sit down meal for your guests is that they will be happy because they would not have to stand up and queue for food or drinks. There will be servers around to serve the food to them. Having servers in an event also perceived as a more classy way of catering. However, to have servers for a sit down meal, the cost will usually be slightly higher. This is especially true if you are inviting a large number of guests to your event as you will have to pay for more servers. Nonetheless, an event with server looks more glam and is a plus-point for your corporate branding.

Having a buffet for your event also has its own advantages. For a buffet meal, your guests can choose what they want to eat from the buffet table. This will give them freedom of choice and make them happy during the event. On top of this, your guests can also determine the quantity of food they will like to consume which helps to prevent food wastage. For a buffet catering, the cost is definitely lower than having servers. So if your budget is tight for the event, you can seriously consider having a buffet catering. One disadvantage of buffet catering is that the most popular food would most likely run out before everyone has the chance to have them.

When looking for catering service, you need to decide on whether you would like to have servers or a buffet catering for your event. You can also ask your food caterer for recommendation as a good caterer can usually help you make the choice with sound advice and experience. No matter what you choose, both types of catering services can definitely make your guest happy during your event.

Last but not least, make sure you brief your caterer on all the necessary details prior to the actual event. This is to reduce any misunderstanding that will cause the event to go haywire.

Dental Clinics

By Damian Sofsian

Dentistry is the science of diagnosis, deterrence and medication of conditions, diseases, infections and maladies of the oral cavity. A dentist is the doctor skilled to treat such diseases, malformations and injuries to teeth. Dentists, like other mainstream medical doctors, practice in clinics. However, a dentist's clinic is much different from that of a regular doctor for many various reasons.

A dental, clinic much like a conventional medical clinic, is a place where people with dental ailments can get their problems solved by a medically qualified dentist. A dental clinic is fully equipped with all the dental equipment that the dentist might require to treat all types of dental issues. There is everything from tooth extraction machines and tools to x-ray machines, from teeth whitening machinery to mouthwashes and fluoridation gear, from teeth bracing apparatuses to denture fixtures. All equipment in the dental clinics is directly or indirectly related to a person's mouth and teeth and is required to be sterilized before another individual is treated with the same equipment. Sterilization and cleanliness is an essential part of dental clinics and must be practiced by all dentists to avoid spread of any infection or mouth disease.

Many dentists also have a counselor to meet with all patients and advise them on proper dental care. They are told by the counselor how to brush their teeth, floss them and are given a good brand of toothpaste or mouthwash. These counselors speak to people about how to control bad breath and how to develop strong teeth. Other than these counselors, many clinics also have their own dental pharmacy section, where patients can buy the tablets and medicines that have been recommended by the dentist.

All White Bridal Bouquets

By Laura Firenze

There is nothing lovelier than an all white wedding. The centerpiece of such a timeless style of wedding decorations is the flowers. All white bridal bouquets have been cherished by brides for generations.

Almost any flower that you could ever want is available in white, which means that you will have a world of choices when designing your bouquet. A white bouquet can be designed to showcase a singular type of favorite flower, or it can be a rich study in contrasting textures and shapes. In addition, your florist can create an all white bridal bouquet that is perfect for any season.

Spring brides will have wonderful choices for their white bouquets. If your style is simple and clean, then a big fat bunch of white tulips makes the perfect bouquet for you to carry. Finish it off with an extra wide satin ribbon bow on the stems. You can use a white bow, or add a splash of color by choosing a ribbon in a different color, or even a stripe.

If you like an old fashioned bouquet, consider white flowers like lily of the valley or sweetpeas. These will make delicate bouquets with lots of great texture. Another wonderful texture is the papery look of tightly wrapped ranunculus. These smallish white flowers combine beautifully with other round blossoms, such as roses and peonies.

Speaking of peonies, nothing could be more feminine and lovely than a big round bouquet featuring these classic beauties. A peach or pale pink grosgrain ribbon would be the ideal accent around the stems. If you like the look of big, open flowers, also consider roses, which are readily available to brides at any time of the year. To fill out your bouquet while keeping costs under control, ask the florist to intersperse some stems of lisyanthus, which will blend in nicely, but are more affordable than roses.

Summer brides can choose from any of the year round flowers for their bouquets, or opt for seasonal blooms such as hydrangea. The elegance of these big flowers with lots of petals makes them gorgeous for any type of wedding, from formal to casual. It all depends on how you choose to arrange them. For a more formal bouquet, choose a dripping cascade of white flowers that combines the hydrangea with roses and greens. If you are having a relaxed afternoon wedding, a simple bundle of white hydrangea tied with a pretty ribbon will be beautiful.

There are many other wonderful white flowers from which to choose. In the autumn, consider mixing white roses with other natural elements, such as leaves and berries. White is also very, very popular for winter weddings. For a winter wonderland theme, take inspiration from your crystal bridal jewelry to trim out your white bouquet: have the florist wire dazzling crystals between the blooms. The crystal accents in your bouquet will be a lovely echo of your spectacular bridal jewelry. Choose large, showy flowers, such as white lilies to create a grand and dramatic bouquet.

With so many choices, you can create a unique and beautiful bouquet for your wedding without adding any color. The all white bridal bouquet is a classic choice, and it is a wonderful way to enhance the beauty of your wedding gown, without using any color that could be distracting. After all, you want your bouquet to be a special part of your bridal ensemble, but the center of attention should always be the bride herself.

Best Wedding Ideas

By: Bob Hamilton

Many people have a vision or a traditional idea of a wedding in their mind. Their idea of a wedding mostly includes items and decorations all in white. This includes the flowers, the dresses, the ornaments and even the cake. There is a subtle attempt to break the monotony as a splash of color is added. In this modern time, it won’t hurt if new wedding ideas are incorporated
There are many things that one can think of when coming up with wonderful ideas to make a wedding more interesting. All that is needed is an inspiration. Also, an eye for details will make the idea work.
Here are a few great ideas that can be added to make the wedding an event to remember:
• Turn Back Time
Time is one idea that can inspire a wedding theme. There are weddings where the theme of the event is modern and avant-garde or classic and vintage. Play with the elements found during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s for a vintage feel. This means that elements, styles and fashion popular during these times will be infused in the wedding.
• Movie Madness
Some couples really get so much into a movie that they want to get outrageous and inspire their special day from it. The Godfather is a classic example. If movies are too much, using glamorous awards shows is a light approach to a themed wedding. Use the theme in details such as invitations, venue design and costumes.
• Fantasy For Eternity
Every woman has a dream wedding, and some develop their dream. They use elements found in the fantasy world in their wedding. Colorful ball gowns, fairy wings and angel halo are worn by the participants. In some instances, even the vows of the couple are worded just as it would be in a fantasy land.
• Loving the Location
Another of the wedding ideas adopted by many couples is doing the ceremony in an unusual place. The traditional wedding is held in an elegant hotel ballroom, a blooming garden, a romantic beach, an ancestral home or a significant church. The unusual place includes the woods or the outdoors. Some take it to the extreme by doing it underwater or 25,000 feet up.
Deviating from the traditional white wedding by adding unusual elements will definitely make the occasion a lot more interesting. Add great wedding ideas by searching for the things that interest the couple. It may be an era, a movie, a fantasy or a location.
To your beautiful wedding!

Decorating Your Wedding Reception

By: Robert Reno

A wedding is a fun and joyous time to celebrate the bond of two people. You have been thinking about every detail, how the itinerary would flow. Now it is time to start brainstorming those wedding reception decorating ideas. This can be stressful or fun depending on how much work you put into decorating your wedding reception.

Decorating a Wedding Reception

If you search Google, you will plenty of wedding reception decorating ideas and the best way to get ideas is to see what others are doing. Current fashion trends tend to change every season and a majority of brides keep up to date on what's in and what's out. Also, depending on how many guests you are expecting will determine the extent of decorating a wedding reception. If you have a theme, it can easily be worked into the decorating process. Also because there are so many wedding reception decorations, I recommend starting a budget and sticking with it. There may be some wedding reception table decorations that are perfect, but they just won't work nicely with your budget.

Wedding Reception Decorating Ideas

So, what is a bride to do? Well, themes can work great for keeping the vibe of a planned wedding reception congruent. If you feel up to it, you can hand make decorations or have those in your bridal party help you as well. Remember, to delegate responsibility to these people (they are here to help keep you sane). The only drawback with this solution is that it is very time consuming. For those with busy schedules wedding planners are great for over the top or very simple wedding decorations. There are also inexpensive wedding decorations on the market. This is great for cutting costs and allocating funds towards something else.

It can be as easy as visiting your local craft store and purchasing materials to make the decorations out of. Flowers (real or imitation) can be placed in various sized jars with multicolored stones. Be sure to have this color match the one you chose for the wedding reception and brides dresses. These vases can also be used for stunning centerpieces on the guests tables. At these same stores you will find a variety of table cloths that match your desired color for the wedding reception.

Another neat idea for inexpensive weddings where there will be many younger children is to use white cloth paper for tablecloths. Provide them with pens/pencils/pens, and the younger guests will have an area to write notes and stay busy during the formalities of the reception. One of the most common problems with children at receptions is they need to keep busy or they will become irritated. You can save some of these table cloths as mementos of the big day.

Wedding Reception Themes

Typical themed weddings can also be planned on simple and easy budget. Try keeping with the seasons depending on what time of year your wedding is. For spring use wedding reception decorations that include light flowers and fresh colors. All summer themes think bold larger than life decorations and neutral colors. Sunset colors work great with fall weddings, and winter weddings are best to keep with lighter hues and shades. Example, color combinations such as burgundy and hunter, or wine and sky blue are just a couple of the many color choices for more formal autumn weddings. There are also many red, orange, and yellow flowers to go with this theme such as marigolds, apricot lilies, rust and burgundy hydrangeas. Rose petals are also great to use on tables, on parts of walkways or floating on water.

Wedding Table Decorating Ideas

Something overlooked at weddings are the name settings on tables. I recommend keeping all fonts the same and in line with the theme of your wedding. Standard name are done everywhere, try to mix it up and personalize the name settings. Maybe each individual table can have a sub-theme that plays off your wedding decorations. You can incorporate unique candles layouts and this will impress guests. Example satin cloths and greenery make for a romantic setting. While covering the dance floor area with small poles elegantly draped with satin ribbons or garlands of greenery makes for a beautiful scene. Your guests will appreciate the time and energy you put into the small details for the wedding reception area.

This is just a small sample of some of the wedding themes. Others include medieval feasts, ethnic weddings, some of which are absolutely beautiful to behold such as the Japanese and S. Korean style weddings, others are Romeo and Juliet themed weddings or an amazing under the sea themed wedding. Basically any theme that is well thought out can turn out stellar.

Wedding Reception Decorations

As you can see, there is plenty of wedding reception ideas that can be used to keep it average, expensive, or cheap. It is up to you to decide on the trade off between time and money. Basically the more money you spend, the less time it will take to get the desired result and visa versa. You can use help from family, friends, or even hired professionals. Overall, you can keep this fun and get the distinguished look you want. Bottom line, decorating for a wedding reception does not need to be stressful or difficult.

Tips on Hiring A Magician

By Mike Selvon

When hiring a magician for a birthday party or corporate event, you will want an entertainer who offers a fun show and makes your event memorable. However, there are many so-called illusionists who haven't taken the time to perfect their art form.

If you want your audience to be transported to a magical world, you must choose a performer wisely. In this article, we'll uncover the tricks of the magic trade to help you spend your money wisely.

A good place to start your search, with regard to hiring a magician for your function, is with references from trusted friends and family. As well, don't be afraid to hold auditions. Anyone can call themselves a magician, so be sure you know exactly what a performance will encompass before you sign a contract.

Most trustworthy professionals nowadays have a web site that offers a biography and a detailed description of their show. The top professionals feature videos on their web pages that let you see the types of routines that they perform and their presentation and interaction with audiences. Comparing videos is an excellent way to evaluate a performer and decide if they are right for your event.

Magicians perform two types of magic shows: stand-up/stage and close-up/strolling. In a stand-up/stage performance, he puts on a show that's appropriate for small to large audiences that can include birthday parties and school functions.

In close-up/strolling performances, he walks around at an event and performs "close-up" tricks using cards, coins and other objects. Strolling magic works well at open houses, cocktail parties and company picnics. A professional magician usually will customize a show for a particular audience to ensure a great performance.

The Yellow Pages is a good resource to find a magician for hire but be wary of party planners and bookers. Many have clients who perform as magicians on a part time basis and the agent may not be clear on what their act entails. On the other hand, a high-end booker will evaluate your needs and match you with a magician that best suits your audience. Even then, insist on references and a video or live demonstration.

Hiring a magician for a kids' party doesn't have to be all smoke and mirrors. Do your research carefully and know what to expect. A performer dressed as a clown who also offers games probably isn't the right choice if you're hoping for sophisticated magic tricks. The same applies to other entertainers who dress up in costumes.

There are some accomplished magicians who dress as wizards and sorcerers but still check their credentials. After all, you want the party to be something your child will always remember as a magical experience.
